        ~ Waterfalls- Pisgah National Forests, Dupont State Forest, Gorges State Park. There are hundreds of local waterfalls in the area, some you have to hike to and others you can drive to.

        ~ Hiking and Trout Fishing- Throught the Area, Art Loeb and Appalachian Trail, City Bike/Walking Path Connecting downtown Brevard with the Pisgah National Forest, Plenty of miles of Fishing in the Pisgah National Forest along the famous Davidson River or the Dupont State Park, Horsepasture River, East Fork River and the meandering French Broad River.  Take a ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway for some awesome views of the Mountains! You can go hiking to Cold Mountain, or walk along the Yellowstone River in the Graveyard Fields or pick Blueberries in late summer on Black Balsam and Sam's Knob.  If you want to go backpacking then the Shining Rock Wilderness is your place to go!

        ~Fourth Friday Art Walk- Stroll through the downtown galleries and businesses after hours for some free wine, food and music! There is not a better way to get to know the local artists and residents of Brevard.

        ~ Farmer's Market- Summer/Fall Downtown behind Comporium

        ~ Swimming- National and State Forest, to cool down on a hot summer day take a slide down Sliding Rock located in the Pisgah National Forest, guaranteed to cool you off!  There are also 2 community pools along with several private clubs.

        ~ Tubing- See the Pisgah National Forest from a different view, tubing down the Davidson River.

        ~Fitness- several private clubs, track at college and the City bike/walking path.

        ~ Mountain Biking-Dupont State Forest

        ~Canoeing-Several Rivers, Headwater Outfitters in Rosman.
